There are lots of endangered-canid videos to choose from, but they are usually too short to enjoy on a looong Dog Day Saturday Afternoon.
Fortunately, PBS has shared a playlist of its Nature series, looking at fennec foxes, dholes, urban foxes, the Ethiopian wolf, African wild dogs, small-toothed dogs, red wolves, bush dogs, hoary foxes, Darwin’s fox, the Arctic fox, and Arctic wolves!
Here are links to more information on the:
- Fennec fox
- Dhole
- Urban foxes
- Ethiopian wolf
- African wild dog
- Small-toothed dogs are only referenced in this PBS video in an online search. Given the diet of insects, they probably mean the hoary fox?
- Red wolf
- Bush dog
- Darwin fox
- Arctic fox
- Arctic wolf
And, for a little lagniappe, one very brave and/or hungry black-backed jackal:
