I don’t know much about dog breeds, but many of the “Breed Reviews” videos in this playlist have decent view numbers.

Fido’s granddaddy, Canis lupus — the gray wolf — has many evolutionary descendants around the wild world.

Perhaps some genetic versatility is built in, and perhaps we have unwittingly unlocked it while using artificial selection to produce these and other breeds.
