Well, not so much in a comic-book-hero sense, except maybe to badgers.
Pretty much the opposite, in some people’s view.
As a group, coyotes will not go away, despite intense eradication efforts by farmers and others who see these canids only as dangerous pests.
Well…I can see where this could be nerve-wracking, but it’s not a capital crime.
One of the arguments reportedly used in support of Oregon’s recent ban of coyote-killing contests on public land is that these just encourage coyotes to breed more.
Coyotes also live wherever there’s an opening for them. For instance, according to this article, the city of Boston, Massachusetts, now has its own native coyote population!
Coyotes are very adaptable, and that is why the makers of this film called it “Shapeshifter.”
