Guest Videos: Counting Sand Cats in Morocco

Little Felis margarita has made the news, but this post must be short: there are very few videos available of sand cats in the wild.

Not much is known about them, which is why a study released recently is so newsworthy.

The same people who stumbled across Moroccan sand cat kittens in 2017 —

— counted and tracked ALL the sand cats they could find in that part of the Sahara Desert between 2015 and 2019, and they found 47 of them.

That doesn’t seem like much, but it’s the Sahara.
