Good news: There will be a post in the Iceland series on Sunday, though it is part 1 of 2 rather than the complete third and final post as envisioned — that was a little too ambitious.

Good news: There will be a cat post out later today some time.

Bad news: It’s delayed a bit.

Good news: The dog family will bark, yip, howl, whistle, or run silent with the pack — which it will be is not yet clear — on Saturday afternoon (UTC) per usual.

Right now, though, I’m just going to sit and wake up a bit. Then I’ll tackle the brief daily new project I’ve started: a day-by-day account on X, per Thordarsson et al. (2003), of the 1783-84 Laki eruption — beyond bad but geologically awesome and surprisingly well documented by contemporary sources.

Then, once the Big Bad is off today’s table — Uncia!
