This is just a quicky, not a full-fledged Sunday Morning Volcano post.
It’s a sort of follow-up to the Piparo mud volcano post. Mud volcanoes are caused by geologic processes other than volcanism; this is true volcanism, although it’s of a type that is not very common on Earth at this moment of the planet’s history:

Reportedly, rumors of an eruption are circulating online (I haven’t seen them) and these journalists checked in with folks living near the volcano — it’s sound asleep.
