It isn’t easy to get a nice picture of a mud “volcano,” but it isn’t wise to ignore them.
That was Trinidad’s Piparo Mud Volcano in 1997, and it might be ramping up for another go:
…The mud volcano last erupted in 1997, spewing mud up to 200 feet in the air and covering roads and homes. It has been relatively dormant since, showing occasional activity. Its last major burst of activity was in 2019, which cracked Solomon’s house…

This just came on yesterday and I only read about it a few hours ago, so for now here are a few general links:
- It isn’t technically a volcano, of course. Here is Wikipedia on mud volcanoes; of note, some mud volcano actually caused tsunami-like waves on Trinidad in 1911!
