I was updating my author page and discovered that someone had written a really nice review on Amazon of one of the domestic cat books: “Perfect for cat lovers.”
That made me SO happy, as it always does, even though I’m writing about volcanoes these days.
Old-timers here — bless you! — know that I started out with the idea of writing a book about how cats evolved (Family Felidae, not just Fluffy).
To make a long story short, PBS beat me to it —
— and that’s fine. There is plenty of other interesting information on cats to cover and, as mentioned, volcanoes are a hot topic for me now (ahem).
Nonetheless, to get feedback like that is wonderful. Never hesitate to do that for a writer — especially an obscure writer! — if you’ve enjoyed their book.
To know that you’ve connected with someone that way makes all the work, etc., worthwhile.
Anyway, I’m still feeling mellow and decided to celebrate by offering the two house-cat books on Amazon at the lowest possible sale price through April.
I just made the changes, so the prices may or may not yet have taken effect, particularly for the paperback versions:
