Land speed records weren’t enough — now they’ve taken to the air!
Well, not really. This video explains why that big jet has a cheetah face painted on its nose:
Sadly, dramatic efforts to bring this cat to world attention are needed:
…The Asiatic cheetah is slightly smaller in size and has a lighter coat than the African cheetah. The cats are known for their distinctive black tear-marks on the sides of their nose. Both Asiatic and African cheetahs are the fastest land mammals in the world. The Asian variety has dwindled due to lack of prey, hunting, farming, industry and the building of human infrastructure across its homelands.
Now, with the exception of small areas within Iran, the cats are nearly gone…

In Iran, sometimes conservationists are endangered, too:
They were sent to prison five years ago and the last members of the group were released in 2024.
According to Mongabay, the Persian Wildlife Heritage Foundation no longer exists.
Only the Iranian Cheetah Society is looking out for these endangered cats now.
