They’re often called Apennine wolves, and if you’re like me, you might not be entirely certain about exactly what and where the Apennines are.
Think “backbone of Italy,” as this quick look suggests — actually Italy’s geography is pretty interesting.
The difference between the Apennines and the Alps has to do with a very complicated plate tectonics picture here as Africa and Eurasia collide.
Never mind that.
There be wolves in those Apennine mountains!
