The spotted cat is an Amur leopard, and like all leopards, it stays right out of the Amur (a/k/a Siberian) tiger’s way.

The problem today is that almost no one needs to fear a tiger – the only ones we meet are behind bars/glass, or on a computer screen – I wrote an SF short story once where a representative from a Galactic bank, responding to Earth’s request for funding of a giant program to cure our ills, tells the Earth reps that this planet, among other things, needs to restore its predators, release them in the cities, etc, to revive the excitement of living.
