Guest Videos: Who’s Up For Bears?


They’re definitely not members of the dog family, but these caniform carnivorans do have that incredible “dog-day” muzzle.

Not only that, bears like the Tibetan blue bear we saw last week are fascinating.

Plus I’ve been watching the Alaskan brown bears chow down on salmon at Brooks Falls via the Katmai bear-cam above and am curious about them.

Many bears, at least here in North America, will be asleep in a few months, so why not check them out while they’re still wandering around?

What are they like today? (Note: They’re certainly dangerous, but let’s focus on the science while keeping self protection in mind.)

That seems to be quite a question (jargon alert), though I haven’t done a lot of reading on it.
