Guest Videos: Patagonia and the Paramo


Somewhere out here is the very rare cat we’re going to meet this Friday:



This little kitty also ranges farther north along the crest of the Andes in the paramo and even among bare rocks — anywhere there is enough cover and shelter, as well as its favorite prey: rabbit-like viscachas.

What’s a paramo? Glad you asked!



There are other paramos besides those of Colombia. In some of these, and elsewhere in the High Andes of Peru, Bolivia, Chile, and Argentina, a rare cat quietly goes about its business:
